2nd Chance Books is helping send aid and comfort to the victims of Hurricane Katrina
With Books and Supplies

A Missouri man left Saturday, September 10, 2005 for his second trip to the hurricane-stricken region.

On Wednesday he left the Kansas City metro area with two trailers full of
donated supplies for hurricane victims.

The donated items came from hundreds of people in Lafayette and Jackson counties.

Dave Walker drove the trucks to Newton County in Mississippi.

"In that county, the only thing they got for delivery was one truckload of water for the whole county --
that was their delivery yesterday."

Walker also drove donations to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

He said what seems like a lot of items, will quickly be used up.

"You think you've done so much until you get there, and you see how much devastation there's been......and you
feel like it's just a drop in the bucket," Walker said.

2nd Chance Books donated more than 30 boxes of supplies.

driving his truckload of much-needed good not once, but TWICE to the stricken areas.
