Mission Statement:
The mission of the Grain Valley Police Department is to provide effective
policing services to all residents of our community. Our goal is to ensure a
peaceful quality of life and to establish a lasting partnership with our
community, and maintain a highly professional, well trained law enforcement

The Grain Valley Police Department fields 11 street officers, two reserve
officers, two school resource officers, a detective and a chief, and one full-time
crime prevention officer.

Telephone services can be connected by calling Southwestern Bell or visiting
their Web site.
Southwestern Bell offers two basic telephone packages and a service that
allows the customer to select specific services individually. Local Measured
Service where the rate charged for calls is based on distance, time of day and
call length. The Measured Rate Service does not include a maximum
monthly local phone charge.

Either service may be connected by phone or online. The Service charge is
billed monthly.

Service can only be installed Monday through Friday. Connection service is
not offered on the weekends. In most cases next day service is available and
no deposit is required.
Deposits may be required in the event of previous history of disconnection due
to non-payment. Deposits may also be required if payment was attempted
from an account with insufficient funds, if payment was late three of the 12
billing periods or in cases of a transfer of services.
Customers are billed monthly and have a 21-day payment period. If a
payment is late a 1.5 percent late fee is added.
Missouri Public Service Commission offers 'Budget Billing,' an optional
payment program. It allows the customer to pay the same amount each month
for electricity. The monthly bill is typically based on the customer's usage in
the previous 12 months.
Customers can make payments by mail or at the Aquila office Monday
through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Payment can be taken to either Price
Choppers in Blue Springs at 100 S. Missouri 7 or 1305 N. Missouri 7, or
Hy-Vee at 601 West U.S. 40 in Blue Springs, and Professional Organization
Management Inc., 1105 Main St., Blue Springs.
Customer Service is available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Missouri Gas Energy is on a monthly billing cycle and customers have 21 days
in which they can pay the bill. If the payment is more than 10 days delinquent
power may be disconnected.
Missouri Gas Energy offers the ABC payment plan. The ABC Plan allows
customers to pay the same amount each month instead of higher payment in
wither and summer months. With this plan there is no delayed charge, if the
bill is received before the next month's bill is due the payment is considered
on time, there is also no disconnect notice. The ABC Plan works well with the
Electronic Bank Plan.
Water and Sewage
Water and sewage for Grain Valley residents is provided by the city.
For installment of service an agreement to pay the deposit must be signed, as
well as, a 24-hour notice.
Homeowners have a deposit cost of $50 and renters have a deposit cost of
$100. Homeowners can receive their deposit back after two years of reliable
payment history and for renters, the deposit pays the last month's bill.
Billing runs monthly. A 10 percent late fee is applied to those who don't make
payment by the 16th of the month. Services will be cut off if payments aren't
made by the 16th of the month as well. For reconnection service there is a
$25 fee after all delinquent bills are paid.
Bills can be paid by mail or in person form 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through
Friday at City Hall. Payment may also be made through the city drop-box at
anytime.
